Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have written it in plain English on purpose.
Who we are
The Intentional Marriage Institute ("IMI", "we", "us"). We sell The Second List System, a digital course, to customers in Nigeria and elsewhere.
You can reach us at hello@intentionalmarriageinstitute.com.
What we collect
When you buy. Your name and email address, and confirmation that your payment went through. Payment is handled entirely by Selar, our checkout and delivery provider. We never see your card details. They do not reach us and we could not store them if we wanted to.
When you visit this website. We use the Meta Pixel, which is a small piece of code from Meta (Facebook and Instagram). It records that a visit happened, which pages were opened, and whether a purchase followed. It also collects standard technical information such as your device type, browser and IP address.
When you write to us. Whatever you choose to put in your message.
Why we collect it
- To send you what you paid for
- To answer your questions and process refunds
- To understand which of our adverts work and which do not
- To show adverts on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited this site, and to people who resemble our customers
That last one is worth being direct about: if you visit this page and do not buy, you may see our advert again later. That is the Meta Pixel doing its job. You can stop it — see below.
Who else sees your information
- Selar — processes your payment and delivers your files
- Meta — receives website activity through the Pixel, for advertising measurement and targeting
- Netlify — hosts this website
We do not sell your personal data to anybody. We do not pass your email address to other businesses, marketers or list brokers.
Cookies and how to stop the tracking
The Meta Pixel uses cookies. If you would rather it did not follow you:
- Block or clear cookies in your browser settings
- Use your browser's private or incognito mode
- Change your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings
Blocking cookies will not stop you from buying or from downloading what you bought.
How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting and for honouring your guarantee. Email correspondence is kept until it is no longer useful to either of us. Website activity data is held by Meta according to their own retention periods, which we do not control.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Object to your data being used for advertising
- Ask for a copy of your data in a portable form
Write to us and we will act on it. There is no form to fill and no fee.
If we handle it badly, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Security
Payment and file delivery run on Selar's systems, which use encrypted connections. We keep the little information we hold to a minimum, which is the most honest security measure we can offer you.
Children
This product is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change it, we will change the date at the top. If we change something that materially affects you, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the page.
